Thank You, Joy Crowley!

It's turned chilly here in Galway which has meant a change of coats. The windbreaking light raincoat is no longer cutting it and I had to pull out a heavier one this past week. As I headed to classes I put my hands in the pockets and my keys immediately fell through the hole in my pocket and into the lining of the coat.

"Oh yeah, now I remember," I thought to myself. Because not only does a hole in your pocket mean you lose things but paying with it as you walk becomes all you can do. It's really annoying.

After a day full of classes I was heading home, still playing with the hole in my pocket and I remembered that a good friend had given me just the thing for a problem like this when I left Reno. As a good bye and good luck gift, Joy Crowley had given me a compact sewing kit and some advice.

"Keep this handy, you never know when you'll need it. And your passport fits in here for traveling. And as soon as you get there buy some waterproofing spray for your boots and your shoes and your coats. If not you'll be damp all the time!"

She'd know. She's spent a lot of time in the U.K and all along this area. She's not only lived there, she's given tours, knows all the hot spots, and taken her grandchildren on trips there. And she sure was right.

I did buy the spray and I've used it on everything I own I think. Now the sewing kit comes into play. It has every color of thread you can even imagine in it. Of course the color won't matter for the pocked in my coat but fixing it will mean everything for that walk to school.

Thanks Joy!
