How Art Gets 'A Head' in Scotland
Okay…I did write that headline to use that picture, to get you to click on this. But those heads are pretty amazing. They are just one of the many exhibits at the Kilgrove Museum in Glasgow.
It is a tremendous museum housing all kinds of art, from sculpture to paintings to huge installations, like all those heads. Which change color as you stand there. And they look different as you climb the stairs and see them from different angles.
I’d say that Scotland knows how to celebrate art. And here’s the best part: Most of the government museums like this, in Glasgow and in Edinburgh are free. Free to those who live there and free to those visiting. They believe in celebrating artists, protecting art and in sharing it with everyone.
So if you happen to be there, you can most certainly take a lot of tours you pay for and see castles and history about, but you can also see a lot for free. That’s one great way for art to get ahead. Wouldn’t you agree?
