Glenlo Abbey: Five-Star Luxury & Living History in Galway

The historic house at Glenlo Abbey stands as a testament to solid stone construction. Oringially built in 1740 restored in 1984 and refurbished in 1992, it is now a five-star luxury hotel. Originally the Abbey was built for the lady of the house, but wasn’t completed while she was alive. These days it is used for weddings.

The resort boasts history, luxury and a 9-hole golf course on the banks of Lough Corrib, complete with an island green. There are 140 acres of parkland for golfing, hiking and just enjoying and who could pass up a chance to dine on the Orient Express?

You see, Galway offers coastlines, history and the arts. Glenlo Abbey adds luxury accommodations, fine dining and golf to the mix. Plus it’s just a really cool place to stop for a drink and to take in the view!
