Ep 30: The Vikings are....here!
In the United States civil war reenactments are a common patriotic event. In Ireland it’s a celebration of Vikings. Especially in Northern Ireland where Vikings were a big part of history for 400 years. And the small town of Portadown is home to a big Viking event every year.
The Viking Festival in Portadown involves a complete Viking Village, the chance to crew a viking longboat, traditional Viking music, food, jewelry, crafts and yes….Viking battles.
Hear what happens in a Viking Village and learn about their history in Northern Ireland in Episode 30 of Erin’s Isle.
