A Shimmering Surprise

As I made my way from Galway to Oranmore for a business meeting last week I noticed for a second time a big building called Galway Irish Crystal.

I'd been by the building on an earlier trip and it was so grand it made me wonder what could be inside. While I'd seen Galway Crystal in the stores here, it never occurred to me to go and see where it was made. So on my way back I got off the bus and took a stroll. And what a beautiful center. As you enter you are immersed in calming new age music, and surrounded by crystal.

It is a refined and elegant gallery and was a great place to do a bit of shopping and have lunch. Unfortunately they no longer offer tours of the actual glass cutting but they did offer some great deals on crystal.
